I had the absolute joy of photographing Amanda + Mike’s wedding back in 2017, and this month, I got to see their love story evolve yet again—this time during a family session at Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park. Now a sweet family of three (with little Ava leading the way), they’re getting ready to welcome baby number two into their lives. And the best part? The gender is still a surprise! As a Key West photographer, there’s something incredibly special about reconnecting with past couples—especially during such meaningful life chapters. This Key West pregnancy and family session was soaked in that golden Key West glow, made even more magical by a soft reopening at Fort Zach that meant we practically had the entire place to ourselves. No crowds, just laughter, love, and soft ocean breezes. Ava was full of energy and curiosity, running through the sandy trails and cuddling close with her mom and dad as the sun dipped lower into the horizon. You could feel the warmth between them—the kind of love that grows deeper with time. Capturing moments like these is why I became a Key West wedding photographer in the first place. It’s not just about the wedding day. It’s about the chapters that follow. This session was filled with tender belly kisses, barefoot walks, and a glowing mama-to-be wrapped in soft light and love. The Monroe County Courthouse served as the perfect backdrop for their vows — meaningful, relaxed, and full of charm. As a Key West elopement photographer, I’ve learned that some of the most emotional, heartfelt moments happen when it’s just the couple, completely present with each other. Alice wore a short white dress that felt effortlessly chic and playful — the perfect choice for a sunny day in the Keys. Anders looked at her like he couldn’t believe his luck. After the ceremony, we wandered through the nearby Old Town streets, capturing romantic elopement photos in the soft afternoon light. We laughed, explored, and took our time — it was relaxed, real, and full of joy. Their elopement felt like a love song — sweet and timeless, just like “Just the Two of Us.” And while this day was just for them, Alice and Anders might be planning a larger wedding celebration in Spain next year. But for now, this was everything they needed — and it was an honor to document it.

As if on cue, Hemingway’s famous six-toed cats wandered through the venue, watching the ceremony unfold as if they, too, were guests of honor. The setting was nothing short of magical. The historic home, towering palms, and romantic pathways created an intimate atmosphere, making their vows even more meaningful. As they shared their first kiss as husband and wife, cheers filled the air, marking the beginning of their greatest adventure yet. As a Key West photographer, I always find inspiration in the unique blend of history and romance that makes this venue so special. Dancing Under the Stars at the Reception As the sun dipped below the horizon, the celebration kicked into full swing. Long wooden tables adorned with glowing candles and lush tropical florals set the scene for a night of heartfelt toasts, delicious food, and nonstop dancing under twinkling lights. The Hemingway cats, never ones to miss a good party, roamed freely among the guests, occasionally pausing near the dance floor as if enjoying the music. The night was filled with laughter, happy tears, and moments the couple would cherish forever.
