Key West and Florida Keys is a beautiful destination for any engagement photography session and wedding photography. The setting and backgrounds offers many tropical and Caribbean feeling backdrops for images. We carefully selected a few locations around Key West to help focus in on some sites, and to easier communicate these ideas between the wedding client and photographer.
For an engagement session we can usually fit in 1-3 locations depending on their closeness to each other, parking, walking, and other factors. When we take a bride and groom to locations during the reception we plan according to proximity of the venues, distance between locations, as well as the preferred choices and the amount of time we have for the candid photos.

Smathers Beach
This is a very popular and free of charge beach. The beach can get very crowded with smaller weddings and during the sunset. Sunrise is the best at this location when nobody is around and the light comes out of the East. You'll get very nice golden soft light in the morning hours and sunset times.

Very tropical Caribbean feel and classic and iconic Key West Imagery. The people who work at the hotel are usually very friendly and let us take photos on the property. This is a very nice spot for weddings ceremonies and receptions, and booking out the whole hotel for your special day.

This popular location in Key West can get super crowded at any time. Unless the bride is in a wedding gown to jump in and out for the pictures, the waiting line is usually twenty minutes to an half hour to hour long. The wait is dependent on the season and how many people are in town.

The fountain and garden area between the two Southernmost Guesthouses is a very pretty location for wedding and engagement photos. The site feels like a quaint garden between tow Key West Styled homes, with a small fountain at the end of the walkway.

I love this location. The lighthouse and surrounding home and yard, has a very clean look and feel. The property feels nautical, and is a very pretty place for any wedding or engagement photos. There is a fee to get inside of the Lighthouse garden and to the top of the structure, where there are amazing views and other photo opportunities.

Bahama Village
Bahama Village is full of colorful houses and backgrounds. This is a small area of downtown Key West with many good places to eat. The area is home to many chickens and roosters. Famous for Blue Heaven, The French Creperie, and the Rick Worth mural on the wall of the Antique Store.

This is a beautiful park, beach, and historic fort in one place. People come here to relax, hang out at the beach, bbq, and visit the fort which is open untill 5:00pm only. Park closes right after the sunset unless you book a wedding and you have whole park to yourself , guests, and family. Fort Zach Beach is a good place if your wedding theme is whimsical and you like nature. You are able to have beautiful star gazing, a bon fire, or dance untill late at the beach. The only beach/park in Key West that have a small fee to enter.
