Social media, intriguing tweet, touching blog post or dating web site could be a beautiful beginning of a new love story and for some lucky ones, turns into a relationship, or even a marriage. This was exactly the case for Liz and Joe.
Liz and Joe met online using the dating web site called Ok Cupid. It is a perfect example of modern love, followed by a unique proposal in form of sneakers.
Liz said: " I'm not really a girly girl and prefer sneakers to any other fot ware." She runs as a hobby which makes a great excuse to have so many sneakers, that's why Joe decided sneakers as his proposal surprise.
Joe made custom Nike sneakers which he hid in Niketown store in New York City. To execute his proposal he walked Liz by shoes, got down on one knee, and proposed. Liz's entire family was present which made this moment even more special and surreal.
Liz was getting ready in one of my favorite locations. Waterfront Key West Pier House Resort, where the sea meets Duval. Part romance, part adventure, private white sand beach with rooms that offers beautiful ocean view, lots of natural light, beautiful blue ocean as a background while boats are slowly cruise around the island of Key West.
They are both nature lovers and wanted to marry in natural environment. Thus, Fort Zachary Taylor beach was the perfect location for a beach wedding ceremony followed by a reception inside the romance of the fort itself.
The custom made sneakers made it to Key West and they offered the perfectly unique contrast to Liz's beautiful cotton lace mermaid gown. Joe also opted out on the dress shoes, instead of wearing a black pair of sneakers accented with funky blue socks to compliment the whole wedding look.
The first dance was followed by an unforgettable rock-and-roll like performance by Liz's father during father- daughter dance, while everyone gathered around and cheered along.
We feel very lucky that such a fun and caring couple brought us into their tight circle of family and friends and let us be a part of their wedding day.
Hopefully some of the Caribbean sand made it's way back to Charleston, hitching a ride in the sneakers, as a reminder of this wonderful celebration!!
Congratulations Liz and Joe!!!
