On the beautiful beach at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park you'll create memories to cherish for a lifetime. Known around the world as Key West's best beach, Fort Zachary is 54 acre park offering 5 reservable sites for wedding ceremonies by the water, on the beach, or in the historic Fortress and exclusive private options for receptions. This wonderful wedding with Rebekah and Garrett was one that I will remember for long time. Rebekah is soft spoken with the biggest heart, and had a stunning wedding dress that gave us lots of movement and was just perfect for any tropical or beach wedding. Garrett had a perfectly tailored tuxedo and had eyes only for Rebekah since their first look. After everyone had left the beach after the sunset, this lovely couple with their families had the whole State Park for themselves! You should see the stars at night right from the beach! What a great place to get married. Congratulations Rebekah and Garrett! Rebekah and Garrett's wedding ceremony was held at " The Point " on the west side of the park where Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico combine. This view offers breathtaking sunsets through the whole year.

Key West's historic Casa Marina Resort is such a beautiful venue for a wedding. Our wedding couple was married on the private beach with with an intimate group of family and friends. Our bride had picked many elegant details and the wedding, cocktail hour, and reception all had gorgeous views of the Atlantic Ocean and lush gardens. Our handsome couple was laid back and enjoyed a lot of time with the family and friends that shared this tropical designation wedding with them. There was much humor and lightness to this wedding and it was my pleasure to capture the formal and intimate moments on this wedding day. Congratulations Shannon and Frank!
We started our wedding day in a beautiful suite overlooking both the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. This gorgeous suite at the Pier House Resort and Spa is one my favorite places to photograph brides getting ready. We have lots of beautiful natural daylight overlooking Sunset Key, sailboats passing by, one of the best sunset views on the island, and we are not to far from Saint Mary's Star Of The Sea church , where the ceremony took place.
Lauren and Rich had a perfect day with a trolley ride after the ceremony to a couple places around Key West. We stopped at the Southernmost point, Higgs Beach and Letty Nowack's Key West Postcard mural. Our beautiful day ended at Rum Barrel roof deck for a lively reception with family and friends. Big Congratulations Lauren and Rich! I wish you many more beautiful and memorable moments! Erica and Hugh had a great destination wedding with so many of their friends and family in Key West. The wedding parties were lively and I really enjoyed their fun group. It is finally a little cooler outside and the weather in Key West has been perfect for these beach weddings. Erika had a beautiful hair style with little flowers and a stunning wedding dress intricately detailed, and the groom and groomsman had attractive suits with pink bow ties. The light right before the sunset at The Reach Resort is very romantic and we captured these perfect moments on the beach with our newlyweds. Congratulations to both of them!
This beautiful wedding in Key West was held a the historic, romantic, tropical garden setting of The Audubon House & Gardens. The ceremony was beautiful tucked away behind the old Key West home with wandering paved brick pathways among orchid-filled trees.
The fountain was their first look, the reception and then amazing sunset views atop the Westin Resort for a lively reception. We've Got The Keys done as always exceptional job planning Kyle's and Eva wedding. Congratulations to you Eva and Kyle! It was very intensive 2 months of traveling this Summer throughout Europe. I spent some wonderful time with my family in the Czech Republic and visited a few cities shooting my travels and some styled photo shoots along the way. Those that travel with me know, we are going to walk a lot, and stop a lot, because I love to shoot everything. I was fortunate to visit Prague, Rome, and Paris on this trip and the cities all left a mark on my soul. I see beauty everywhere. I love to travel, and this always opens my mind to new ideas, styles, and energy that I like to bring back to my weddings. I spent a long weekend in Paris, and on her very last day and just hours before she left the city, Anna and I zoomed about the cities landmarks and ornate sculptures. We walked and along the Sein River capturing so many great images her the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Gardens. Anna is a diverse model, signed with Wilhelmina Paris, she's playful and young, with her own style and mood. She made this shoot so fun and the magic of Paris crept into every shot. Paris, FranceRome makes me gush. Words and memories and love for a city that is not mine, but feels like all of ours. You can breath in the history in the air, down every small alley and in-between the old city streets. Rome is after all one of the oldest occupied cities in Europe, the central nation in ancient Roman culture. I had no idea how much I would fall in love with this city, her tiny cars, and welcoming city inhabitants. We visited the Vatican City, an independent country within the city boundaries of Rome, the only existing example of a country within a city. I highly recommend to bring good shoes, try a gelato, visit one of the sights at night because everything is usually open till 1:00 or 2:00 am. We were also very lucky to shoot in such a beautiful setting as The Villa Borghese Secret Gardens. It was a part which is usually closed to the public, so it made our shoot even more special. The w0nderful and edgy fashion designer Giorgia Donia had the most amazing cloths to work with and our model, Valentina Feula, brought out these intense emotions into our photos. This city made for lovers, during fashion week, enthralled my imagination. In my short visit, I met the fashion photographer Emily Soto. We talked photography, shot in the studio and garden, and met amazing fashion stylists and talented make-up and hair stylists. I love these workshops for the shared passion and conversations with other photographic artists. I hope you are enjoying these traveling photo shoots as much as I love creating them, together we can drift away and let the dream take you wherever you want to go. A couple more photos that remind me of such a beautiful time in Paris.
My first wedding in Key West after a lot of traveling throughout Europe was a warm welcome home. The Southernmost on the Beach was a great start to kick off the 2015 season with the sweet and photogenic newlyweds Melissa and Sean.
This tropical wedding was full of color and sun kissed on a warm October day. We spent the whole day with the happy couple and their families, views of the Atlantic Ocean, and romantic vignettes for photos. Melissa had two beautiful wedding dresses, one for the ceremony and one for reception. I loved the sheer fabric that created a nice flowing movement. The children played a large part of the fun and had a blast through out the whole day. The guesthouse was a great Key's backdrop for the wedding photos. Melissa and Sean's wedding day was colorful, loving and fun. A perfect start to another wedding season with a great couple. Cheers to your new life together! Every chance and opportunity I get to reinvent and charge myself spiritually and photographically, I'll do just that. This time was extra special. I had the chance to spend 3 beautiful days in a peaceful ranch outside of Steamboat Springs, in the middle of nowhere, with Jennifer Hudson/ Thoreson fine art photographer. Jennifer's work is published in many media outlets and exhibited in numerous galleries. Her conceptual work is is vulnerable, touching and her openness to share with others makes her the best teacher. I arrived to Steamboat one day early and explored tranquil mountain views. As a destination wedding photographer, expanding and changing with travel to different locations makes all the difference. You see things that might be overlooked, and all those big hills, creeks, fresh air, and mountain flowers make you say 'Ahhhh' many times. The next day I was picked up and we drove to Motherwell Ranch to meet 15 other talented photographers from all over the world, Jennifer and her sweet puppy Olive. For 3 whole days, we made hair flower crowns, dresses, brainstormed shoot ideas, and slept in a tent with a horn and spray against bears! Here she is. Soft spoken, always smiling and talented. Fine art portrait photographer Sue Bryce also join Jennifer's workshop and it was really a pleasure to be in the group of such talented artists. We also had the chance to work individually with the models and all of the props Jennifer brought. We made including clay, volcanic ash, horse, vintage dresses and learned about printing techniques Jennifer uses for her galleries, showings and books. I worked with the breath taking model Bree, who was also a ballet dancer, and willing to work extra hard to get any image. Here are few photographs I was able to take for my own personal portfolio of Bree. This handsome fella is Henry, very patient, snacking in between photo shoots. I hope I was able to touch your heart with these images as much as I had fun creating them. I cannot wait for other adventures, destination weddings, and amazing collaborations that are awaiting me.
You can take me anywhere in a plane and I will be quite happy. Flying lifts the spirt, heightens the senses and the feeling of adventure and romance is instantly with you. Shooting destination weddings in Key West and The Florida Keys is always especially joyful as everyone also on a vacation, on their own adventure. Nearly everyone arrives by plane, landing on this small piece of land out in the ocean, to have their own amazing wedding experience. Our adventurous couple never cares where they are going, but only that they have each other. These newlyweds are styled classically, with retro elements by Star Grace Styling. Our couple dreamed big with specific classic details, and our fearless bride rose to the occasion for this inspiring photo, rising high above the prop engine. The airport hangar was full of romance, new plans, and the far away dreams of pilots and passengers. The large hangar of the Aerobatic Cabanas Family, was our location for a few hours after a torrential tropical downpour. Our moods remained elevated, as the fresh rain cooled the air, and left us with a reflective lake on the airport runway. The classic biplane seemed to purr behind our couple, in anticipation of her sunset flight. Our bride was styled part Motown, part Rockabilly, and she looked stunning riding along the Atlantic Ocean in her 1962 Ford Falcon. Fabulous hair and makeup provided by the illustrious Amanda Robinson. Our tall, dark, and handsome groom pulling up in his muscle car made all of us a little weak in the knees. This groom was a sweetheart, and looked so dapper with his black on black classic style, on the bright red interior. We loved this couple! So many great romantic images from a magical evening with two beautiful lovers. Whether it is the past or the future, the gift of flight will always inspire and amaze. Inspiration and dreams always welcome for your wedding plans, and always remember, "if you were born without wings, do nothing to prevent them from growing." Coco Chanel Key West Wedding Vendors

For quite some time I wanted to do a bridal themed photo shoot, and The Private Island of Melody Key was the greatest opportunity to do just that. The owner was more than generous, and opened his luxury destination for us to scout, and then shoot over a series of days. This beautiful secluded island is surrounded by a peaceful ocean, endless sunsets, and skies that melt into the Atlantic. The preparation took us some time, searching for creative individuals that wanted to be a part of this adventurous photo shoot. Every person contributed so much towards this project. None of this would have been possible without their energy and efforts. On a Wednesday morning with our 3 cars filled to the top with props, wardrobe, and equipment, we were on our way from Key West to Sugar Loaf Key near Mile Marker 25. We hopped on the transport boat with our local guide on our way to this tropical paradise. A short cruise later, we are on Melody Key. An island home where time stopped long ago. Everyone was very excited for the project. Models, makeup, wardrobe, and assistants set up on the main floor of the home. A bee hive of activity followed with our first shoot planned for the evenings sunset. Melody Key was the perfect location for our Tropical Bridal photo shoot. I love colors, non-traditional weddings, and props on the wedding day, so my idea was to encourage brides or just to inspire them too see possible ideas for their big day. These images could also inspire and elopement or engagement photo shoot. I met up with Star Grace, fashion stylist, and she made beautiful choices by picking out these dresses that complimented each other. Lenka Dostalova arranged a stunning tropical bridal bouquet that smelled so lovely, and was exactly what I wanted. Lenka also created angelic flowery bridesmaids halos. Amanda Robinson, make-up stylist, created her magic with gorgeous make-up and hair stylings. Marky Pierson our creative production guide and videographer at Wonderdog Weddings, provided perfect timelines, and built the sets along side Kristi Rhodes and Lea Moeller. This team was built for smooth sailing. The following day we started early. We had not slept much at all. The Summer month's weather is unpredictable in the Florida Keys, but at the same time, they provide billowing clouds that could be used as amazing backgrounds during a tropical summer wedding. A storm rolled in around midnight, and I have never seen so much lightening on exposed piece of land. It was a spectacular light show far from the city glow of Key West, and we had front row seats high above the mangroves. We shared beds , some mosquito bites ( laughing - too many mosquito bites actually) and bonded over our creative collaboration. There were so many great moments during day, and we told our stories throughout the night. The next morning the storm had passed by, and cloudy skies gave us the perfect start with our colorful props. Balloons gives me the feeling of freedom and celebration, and I loved this added splash of color. The ocean was peaceful, calm and flat as a glass at times. Do you feel like you want to dip into the ocean right now? I do, every time I look at this photo below. By the end of the wedding photo shoot, we had the chance to photograph underwater wedding photos as well. I'm in love with those too. Creating romantic, sensual, and dreamy images, is what shooting underwater photography is all about for me. Production, Videography: Marky Pierson
